Premier Gold 'Non-Ex' Sensors  

Features 
Single-gas types for Hydrocarbon gases or Carbon Dioxide. 
Measurement ranges - 0-5% & 0-100% Volume (for Hydrocarbons, a reference calibration gas, e.g. Propane, is used to pre-calibrate the sensors - this must be specified when ordering). 
Operating voltage 3 to 5 volts dc, nominal current = 80mA. 
Wide operating temperature range of -20 to +50 deg. C. 
Suffix 'XTR' (-40 to +75 deg. C) versions available to special order. 
Output format options - Digital, Analogue or Pellistor Replacement. 
Instantly converts existing compatible pellistor-based instruments to infrared. 
Sensors can be factory configured to customer specifications. 
User configurable via a configuration unit available from Dynament. 
Internal 'Flash' memory enables firmware updates via the configuration unit. 
Industry standard size - 20mm diameter x 16.6mm high (excluding pins). 
3-pin (pellistor replacement) or 5-pin versions available. 
Optional replaceable, self-adhesive micro porous 14 micron filter. 
Note - Infrared sensors cannot be used to detect Hydrogen gas. 
 
These single-gas sensors contain all the necessary optics, electronics and firmware to provide a linearized, temperature compensated output. The sensors provide equipment designers with a fast track route to introduce the latest infrared technology for detection of gas without the requirement for any specialist knowledge. 
 
They are are intended for use either in non-certified gas detection equipment or in hazardous area certified equipment where the equipment manufacturer provides the necessary protection by means of a separately certified explosion protected housing. 
 
The sensors are contained in a stainless steel housing fitted with a single protective stainless steel mesh. This ensures a minimum response time to gas in applications where the sensor is to be fitted within a separately certified explosion protected housing protected by a sintered flame arrestor such as a sinter. 
 
The construction of the non-certified types provide a small cost saving compared with the certified types. 
 
The sensors can be used to measure either Hydrocarbon gases or Carbon Dioxide, depending upon the sensor type, within a wide range of commercial and industrial applications. 
 
The standard measurement ranges that are available for Hydrocarbons are 0-5% and 0-100% volume. The sensors are pre-calibrated using a Hydrocarbon reference gas such as Propane - this must be specified when ordering. 
 
In addition, the High Resolution Methane Sensor provides measurement of Methane over the full range of 0 to 100% volume with a resolution of 0.01 % for 0-10% methane and 0.1% for 10-100% volume. 
 
The standard measurement ranges that are available for Carbon Dioxide are from 0-500ppm up to 0-5% volume and 0-100% volume.

The Hydrocarbon reference calibration gas (e.g. Methane, Propane etc). 
Measurement range/s. 
Output voltage for zero. 
Output voltage for span 
Rising or falling output voltage with increasing gas level (for "Bridge" outputs). 
Sensitivity e.g. 100 mV = 100 % volume CH4 for "Bridge" outputs, 0.4 – 2.4V = 100% volume methane for "Voltage" output sensors. 
Communication speed – 38,400 baud (default), specify alternative rate if required.
